Leaked photos of the brand new 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited Rubicon are now all over the internet. At first look, the 2018 model looks nearly the same to the ongoing model, but to a much closer look, enthusiasts will easily know the different changes that differentiate it from the current version.

The automaker has kept the Wrangler's iconic grille and round head lights but gives it a new front bumper that is detached from the flared wheel arches and also has the front turn indicators. The vehicle also comes with a new air vent that is located on the front fenders, outside mirrors are positioned a little higher now and featured integrated turn indicators as well.

In addition, the top and the doors still come off, and two hinges located right above the hood confirms that the windshield still folds down. These two features will make sure that the Wrangler is not going soft.

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will also get new alloy wheels, LED tail lamps and an updated rear bumper are the other significant changes on the exterior.  The spare tire isn't revealed, but earlier spy shots of a heavily camouflaged test mule show it will be rear-mounted.

The changes under the hood of the upcoming 2018 model are really important. The current version carries the Pentastar V6 engine, and most likely the same engine will be used on the 2018 model.

However, an optional engine will be a brand new 2.0-liter turbo four that produces 300 hp. A four-wheel drive and a manual transmission will also come standard, and an automatic gearbox is available at an extra cost.

Jeep has already invested around $700 million at their North facility, Toledo Assembly Complex. It is expected that production of the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited will start in November and will be making its world debut at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show.
