2018 Range Rover Sport Spotted?

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport defined the luxury SUV segment. It is a perfect blend of off-road prowess, sharp handling, and smart features. The latest model has recently been spotted testing!

According to The Fast Lane Car, Nate S. sent in detailed images of a new vehicle that looked like the Range Rover prototype. It was covered in heavy camo but the distinct Sport outline was still apparent.

Nate S. reported that the engine under the hood of the test mule made a raspy and mean sound. He also noted that it had a dual exhaust system in the back. It is very likely that the refreshed 2018 Range Rover Sport will use a supercharged or turbocharged gasoline engines. A turbo-diesel engine is also a likely possibility.

Auto Evolution also reported seeing the Range Rover Sport SBR in Nurburgring. The infamous German track saw the prototype testing around it.

The report states that the vehicle appears to already be wearing its production front and rear headlights. The hefty stopping hardware and weapon-grade exhaust tips were also present during the testing.

Judging by its air intakes, the website believes that the SVR will change the 550 horsepower incarnation of Jaguar Land Rover's supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine. It believes that a new 575 horsepower version will be used instead.

This is likely because of the apparent similarity between the previous RRS and the Range Rover Velar. The Velar is situated in between the steel-bodied Evoque and the aluminum-bodied Sport. It is built like the RRS with the same sporty look. In order to make sure that there is no overlap in sales, the new SVR needed to be improved.

The 2018 Range Rover Sport will hopefully be the same powerful luxury vehicle we saw in the past. With the success of the new Velar, the new RRS is also expected to up its game and be a top contender in its class.
