2017 Mercedes-Benz E Class Review: Security & Convenience With Awesome Shifters & A Mind Of Its Own?

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E Class Coupé boasts of its extreme intelligence and special column shifters. The new coupé features first of its kind technology advancements which allow the vehicle to do the necessary actions by itself. It seems that the new coupé has a mind of its own.

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E Class Coupé comes with very clever technology features. The new model provides exceptional safety and convenience features for more comfortable and secure driving experience.

It has the Crosswind Assist technology which helps protect the car from the dangers of cross winds. The Crosswind Assist technology helps determine strong gusts of wind and will immediately activate the side brakes for counterbalance.

It also has the Drive Pilot, which is the semi-autonomous system of the new coupé. The Drive Pilot assists the driver by enabling the car to shift to driverless driving mode with speed of up to 210 kh/h. It also allows cruise control where it can move forward or take a halt, depending on the flow of traffic, while keeping the car steady on its lane.

The new E Class coupe sports the "Car-To-X" communication technology, which is a first in the world. This allows the vehicle to communicate to a central information resource which provides updates on driving conditions.

Moreover, the new E Class features the latest Pre-Safe Impulse Side technology. This is another first technology advancement which protects the passenger by reducing the gravity of impact from the side collision. The technology will automatically inflate the front-seat bolster to help reduce the impact on the passenger, EsquireME reported.

Meanwhile, the new column shifter is the other outstanding feature of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E Class Coupé. The new shifter is the same simple design found in the Mercedes-AMG C43.

Torque News notes how awesome the column shifter is. According to the publication, the new column shifter eliminates extra arm movements while driving. Drivers will especially like this as it provides more comfortable driving experience.

In addition, the column shifter takes up smaller space compared to the conventional shifters. This small size of the column shifter is beneficial for designers in creating simpler center consoles as well.
