No Microsoft Surface Book 2 Yet? Microsoft Takes Time To Develop Something New?

Microsoft Surface Book 2 is highly anticipated to be included in the brand's spring launch event. However, it seems that Microsoft has another device in mind as the second generation Surface Book is reportedly not coming out yet.

Microsoft has been speculated to hold its launch event this spring. Many believe that the company will maximize this event to introduce its two more powerful devices, the highly anticipated Microsoft Surface Book 2 and Microsoft Surface Pro 5.

Although the company has not made the official announcement of the final date for the spring event, it is expected to commence next month. Consequently, both flagships have been rumored to come out this April too.

However, new reports now claim that the Microsoft Surface Book 2 will unlikely be launched next month. Apparently, the company is not yet ready to introduce the new powerful laptop.

According to Mary Jo Foley, popular Microsoft tipster from ZDNet, she has received updates from several sources saying the Surface Book 2 will not be introduced in the upcoming event yet. Mary Jo Foley also mentioned that there was no word as well for the other flagship, Surface Pro 5, to launch soon.

Furthermore, the tipster also emphasized that sources have confirmed Microsoft will hold an event this spring. Now that the sources are saying the new Surface Book will not make its debut, the tipster could not help but speculate that Microsoft might have something else up on its sleeve.

It was noted that Microsoft seems to be aiming to introduce something unique in the market. When it launched the Surface Pro 4 in 2015, it was the first tablet that can function as a laptop. When the Surface Book was launched in the same year, it became the first laptop that can transform into a tablet.

The next device that the tech giant will most likely launch could also be something that will be a pioneer in its kind. It may not be the known line of Microsoft Surface Book. It may be something else.

As of this time, Microsoft has not made any announcement about the Surface Book 2 nor another new device. Watch out for more updates in our next report.
