Rumors Hint Audi RS6 Avant Might Find Its Way Into The United States

One of the best car to come out of the Audi Sport division is the Audi RS6 Avant. The car has been well-received by many car experts. Unfortunately, the RS6 Avant is not available in the United States, a big letdown considering the number of people interesting in picking this car.

The Audi Sport division is the company's sub-brand for developing performance-oriented cars. With a lot of freedom given to this particular division, Audi Sport is expected to develop better cars that can compete with the BMW M and Mercedes-AMG brands.

Many car enthusiasts have made the case for Audi to release the RS6 Avant in the U.S. Observers have pointed out the success of the Audi A4 Allroad in the U.S, citing that there is a growing interest for the RS6 Avant in the market as well. Nevertheless, many are convinced that should Audi release the forbidden fruit in the U.S, it will not arrive until 2019, according to Digital Trends.

In an interview with Car and Driver, Audi Sport top man Stephan Winkelmann said, "We don't have a big lineup. The right cars mean having them in segments that are growing, and also segments that are equally distributed in the regions of the world."

Speculations have been buzzing around the motoring community that Audi is planning to develop an RS version of the Q7 and Q8 SUVs. If this is true, high-performance RS SUVs will enter a highly competitive market with well-established brands like the BMW X6M and the Mercedes-AMG GLE63. Apart from that two which are currently available in the market, cars like the Lamborghini Urus and Porsche Cayenne are also slated to be released into the market in the foreseeable future.
