Surfer-brothers came to the council meeting in San Clemente, California to plea for a 12-foot tall statue of the late "Fast & Furious" star Paul Walker. The two brothers told the council that the late actor is a "unifying figure in gnarly times." Although their plea appears to be a hilarious joke, why did councilwoman Lori Donchak claim the two were sending a powerful message?
The city council of San Clemente posted a video of the said meeting where the proposed statue of Paul Walker was requested. In the video, the two surfer-brothers, Chad Kroeger and Bodhi Johnson, introduced themselves as freelance journalists. They came to the council meeting and surprised the council with their unexpected request.
It seems that the two surfers have quite prepared for the council meeting. Bodhi Johnson even showed a shirt carrying the design of Paul Walker's statue they are proposing. It turns out that their proposed design shows a topless man.
The two allegedly pranksters appeared to be very serious with their plea. As they deliver their speech, they seem to be trying to convince the appalled council.
Chad Kroeger said that they have already interviewed hundreds of people as they are witnessing how America is being divided by political differences. Then he continued with his point to justify his plea to erect a statue of Paul Walker.
According to Chad Kroeger, it is high time that the Americans need a figure who will unite them again. The brothers believe that Paul Walker is "a beacon of headlights" that can serve as a guide as Americans struggle through the "dusty road."
On the other hand, Bodhi Johnson mentioned that the proposed statue would be a good way to pay tribute to the late Paul Walker. The surfer explained that the spirit of the former "Fast & Furious" star "encompasses what his town is all about."
Meanwhile, the members of the council had varying reactions on the proposed statue for the late Paul Walker. One member admitted he is a big follower of the late actor but he is not agreeing with the proposed statue. Whereas councilwoman Lori Donchak seems to agree with the two brothers' point.
According to Lori Donchak, she understood where the two surfers are coming from. She even emphasized that the two guys were referring to the city's need for an inspiring figure. Lori Donchak also vouched that the two guys' point is even sending a powerful message and then she thanked the guys.
