2018 Honda Civic SI Has Lower Torque Power Than Volkswagen Golf GTI And Ford Focus ST

Honda is known for creating affordable and durable cars. Now, they are offering a new car called Honda Civic SI that may have a low torque power but may have an amazing horsepower.

The company's torque power is just a little bit higher than its predecessors 177's lb-ft of torque. It could be remembered that its predecessor the Honda Sport was introduced with this torque power.

According to The Drive, 2018 Honda Civic SI can produce 192 lb. ft of torque. Sadly, this is lesser torque power than its competitors like the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Ford Focus ST.

Volkswagen Golf GTI can produce 248 lb. ft of torque. On the other hand, the Ford Focus ST can produce 270 lb. ft of torque.

This is also a lesser torque power as Honda Civic Type R boasts 295 lb. ft of torque. Remarkably, LeftLane reported that this car may have a better horsepower than other Honda cars.

The 2018 Honda Civic SI is estimated to have a horsepower of below 200s that is higher than Honda Sports car that only has 180 horsepower. The company also stressed that this brand new car is different from Honda Type R that has 306 horsepower.

This news first came out as a leak from a prospective buyer who posted Honda's reply to an online forum. Apparently, the reply mentioned the car's torque power but not its horsepower.

Even though, there has been no official pricing for the car. It is speculated that it will cost lower than Volkswagen Golf GTI and Ford Focus ST, costing lower than $25,000.

Despite its low cost, 2018 Honda Civic SI still managed to create an amazing amount torque for its 1.5 engine. To date, there has been no official release date for the car but it will be reportedly first introduced this year.
