2017 BMW 740e Luxury Car : BMW Latest Hybrid Car With 322 HP Engine

BMW comes out with the 2017 BMW 740e, its latest edition of a hybrid electric and battery-powered car to help reduce the world's carbon emissions. It is the German automobile manufacturer's latest attempt to create a sedan for eco-friendly and environmentally-focused car owners.

Detroit News reported that the 2017 BMW 740e is a full sedan made of premium carbon features and operating on a 2.0-liter gasoline engine along with an electric motor driven by a lithium ion battery. The 740e gets its propulsion from its gasoline engine. As a hybrid car, it can be plugged into a 110-volt wall socket or a 240 volt Level 2 charging station, if available.

However, the 2017 BMW 740e gas engine produces only 255 horsepower but the electric motor adds 111 horsepower. That means the total horsepower of this hybrid electric car sedan is 322 horsepower with a torque of 369 lb.-ft. It goes on to say that with the above kind of power, the car can move from 0 to 60 mph in only 5.2 seconds. It has a terminal velocity of 155 mph which isn't that bad. On an electric mode, the car runs quite silently up to 28 miles only. That makes this car better for quiet drives around town.

The 2017 BMW 740e is equipped with the Brake Energy Regeneration. It has Driving Dynamics control in different modes. It functions with an 8-speed Steptronic AT with Sport and Manual Shift modes that make it more efficient.

Another high-tech feature that can be found in the 2017 BMW 740e is the Gesture Control. This allows passengers to direct the infotainment system using simple hand gestures. This feature is also used in the BMW's 2016 7 series. This BMW car also carries the Active Cruise Control that helps drivers maintain a specific distance to other vehicles in the lane. It maintains the speed on a specific level. It even has Radar Sensors to scan the road ahead.

Interior-wise, the 2017 BMW 740e has a beautiful design made of wood and leather. The rear seats are also very comfortable and offer plenty of space. The negative point only is the battery pack takes away a bit of the trunk space.

BMW Blog announced that the 2017 BMW 740e will be one of a fleet of plug-in, hybrid BMWs that will be exhibited in the upcoming 2017 New York International Auto Show. The best part is that the 2017 BMW 740e  comes with an 8-year/80,000-mile High-Voltage Battery Warranty as mentioned on BMW's official USA website This will definitely make owners worry-free.
