HTC rebranded the HTC U including HTC U-Ultra as an answer to criticism on its phone. Despite this, there are still a lot of not so good reviews surrounding the phone.

The phone is available in different color variations namely Indigo Blue, Black Oil, Cosmic Pink Gold and Iceberg White. Since most premium smartphones only come with three colors, this is actually refreshing to see.

However, the phone has a lot of impractical features when it comes to its body. When there is a notification, it keeps ringing even when the users typing.

Because of its metal body, the back and the front needs a lot of cleaning. Even though HTC U-Ultra comes with a transparent plastic case, it is still prone to smudges and scratches.

The phone comes with a wonderful technical system. It has a 5.7-inch QHD LCD display, running with Android Nougat and Snapdragon 821 processor.

It also has a 4GB RAM and 3000mAh battery. With this battery, the phone can last up to 14 to 18 hours depending on the use.

HTC U-Ultra has no headphone jack like the iPhone 7 because HTC wanted to create a more flexible design. It is not water resistant, which a lot of users felt as a let-down, reported CNET.

If the user wants to listen to music, users need to buy a $12 adapter only from HTC. In its defense, the adapter uses a specific format that can boost the audio quality. Apparently, the company blocks third-party adapters for this phone.

The phone costs $750 which consumers believe as a very expensive device for a phone that sacrificed a lot. The phone is still considered a good phone but it may attract even more good buyers if it could lower its price.
