2018 Toyota Yaris Features Refreshed Design and Added Hybrid Powertrain

The 2018 Toyota Yaris Hatchback is getting some major facelift. Aside from some major design changes, the 2018 Yaris lineup will also include, for the first time, a hybrid powertrain option.

The Toyota Yaris is known for its practicality and utilitarian features. The hatchback has an impressive mileage rating at a very competitive price. Add that on top of the new look, the Yaris is sure to be a hit this year.

The 2018 Yaris sports a new front end with a newly designed grill, new headlights as well as chrome accents. The SE model of the hatchback has a touch of piano black accent which adds to the car's sporty build, along with the 16-inch alloy wheels. The rear bumper and taillights were also redone in order to emphasize the width of the car.

In the interior, the base L and LE models sport the same sporty gauges as the upgraded SE model. All three trims are expected to sport an LCD display on the dashboard that shows fuel economy, temperature, and eco driving lights. All trims also support the Entune infotainment system which adds a 6.1-inch touchscreen with six speakers, CD player, voice recognition, Siri Eyes Free, USB port, and Bluetooth connectivity, according to CNet.

The Yaris model that can be configured with a hybrid engine will be exclusively released in Europe. Statistics reveal that the hybrid version of the Yaris makes up more than 40 percent of all its sales in the region.

Under the hood, the 2018 Toyota Yaris packs a new 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine. Toyota promises this new powerplant will deliver improved power, performance, torque, and mileage. It has 110bhp and 136Nm worth of torque. While the engine's power and torque may not be the most powerful in this particular segment of the car market, it has an impressive mileage which Toyota claims is around 56mpg, according to Auto Express.

The 2018 Toyota Yaris packs quite a handful of tech features. All models come standard with Pre-Collision System, Automatic High Beam feature, Lane Departure Alert, ang rain-sensing wipers. The new Yaris will hit the market this summer.
