Widely considered as one of the best trucks to grace the grueling Baja 1000 off-road race, the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is getting a very high-tech treatment with the release of the "Born to Baja" virtual reality experience. The VR experience takes viewers to an exciting story of how the 2017 Raptor conquered the 2016 Baja tournament.

Ford have created an immersive experience which takes viewers straight from the assembly line to the finish line of the 2016 Baja 1000 which the F-150 Raptor triumphed. The VR experience is a visual feast that presents the magnificence of the Baja peninsula. It is also a tribute to the Raptor's unflinching durability as it competes in one of the toughest off-road races in the world.

In a statement acquired by Off-Road, Ford Performance global marketing manager Henry Ford III said, "'Born to Baja' showcases the Built Ford Tough attitude that is at the heart of this performance monster. This grueling race proves once again that we have the most capable, production off-road truck in the industry."

The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor completed the 49th SCORE Baja 1000 in November 2016. The truck displayed an impressive performance throughout the grueling race, and it only stopped for minor adjustments. The same truck that competed in Baja is now available in Ford showrooms and dealerships.

The F-150 Raptor that competed in Baja sports an almost stock configuration, with just minor off-road upgrades. It has a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine which packs 450 horsepower, according to Auto Week.

The "Born to Baja" experience can be accessed on YouTube. Moreover, the Ford VR app is also available on Apple App Store for iOS users and Google Play for Android devices.
