Boy Killed By Dad’s Plow Truck While Clearing Snow From Driveway, Asks For Forgiveness From Community (VIDEO)

A 6-year-old boy from Maine was accidentally hit and killed on Wednesday, Mar. 20, by a snowplow truck his father was using according to Reuters.

Kevin Capponi, 36, was finishing up clearing snow from the family's driveway after a late snow-storm according to authorities.

While backing up his truck he did not see his son, Nathan, playing on a scooter in the driveway at approximately 6:45 a.m. according to Stephen McCausland, a spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

The boy was taken to the hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead shortly after at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, according to McCausland.

"Please forgive me and my family," Capponi said in a Facebook post Wednesday. "I love him with all my heart. It is now broken."

Capponi's post has since received dozens of comments from Facebook friends and family according to Newsmax.com. The entire local community is reportedly on Capponi's side, as they're more worried about how the boy's parents and fellow family members will recover from such a tragic incident.

"This was an accident, it was not your fault," one person wrote back to Capponi's post. "We always blame ourselves, but it was an accident. God has already forgiving you. You are all in our prayers today tomorrow and always. Love you all."

No charges are expected to be filed, and officials have deemed the incident strictly an accident according to Reuters.

A similar situation occurred in Star Prairie Township, Wisconsin when Daniel Fitzgerald accidentally hit and killed his 4-year-old son with a plow truck according to the Portland Press Herald.
