Aria Fast Eddy: The Mid-Engine Corvette Soon A Reality

Aria's Fast Eddy will hopefully mark the rise of the Mid-Engine Corvette after its completion was shelved over the years. Is the long wait really over?

Rumors have been circulating over the years that Chevrolet is developing a Mid-Engine Corvette. The rumors had already been flying for almost half a century.

The truth of the matter is that Chevrolet has indeed developed mid-engine concept but not one of them had reached the market. The concept has remained as such: a concept.

The first prototype was shown in the mid-70s but nothing came to fruition. A lot has been planned and drawn in the next centuries but everything remained on just on paper. Sometime in the mid- 2000, a decision to finally create was made. Unfortunately, the 2008 crisis halts all of those plans and ended them.

The good news is according to Car Buzz is that Aria Group has been developing a mid-engine corvette. The Fast Eddy named car was designed by ED Taylor and will have a 650HP, 650 LB.FT of torque LT4 engine.

Transmission would be a dual clutch six-speed gearbox and the acceleration will be 2.6 seconds from 0-60 miles per hour. Imagine, 1/4 mile can be reached in just 10 seconds, it will have a top speed of 210 miles per hour.

Other sources already spotted testing the car in Michigan. The car may be launched next year and go on sale by 2019. So after decades of planning a new mid-engine car may come true at last.

Somehow the only negative comment on the car being rendered by the Aria Group is the new car does not look like a corvette. According to Corvette Forum, if there will be any changes on the iconic corvette, the design should also be out of the box. The aim of the project is to create another market source thus the Mid-Engine Corvette. The design being imagined is a mixture of the Ford GT and Rimac Concept One
