Due to the overwhelming success that the Kyrie Irving "Uncle Drew" videos have achieved on YouTube, Pepsi decided to use the same idea only this time have it feature NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon fooling an unsuspecting car salesman last month.
The driver, dressed in disguise, visited Troutman Motors and Phillip Morris in N.C. last month and asked a car salesman if he could test out a Chevrolet Camaro.
Gordon's disguise, which included facial hair and wrinkles, was apparently enough to fool the salesman, as he had no idea who the man was.
Pepsi placed hidden video cameras on Gordon and around the vehicle. As the test drive begins, Gordon acts like he's never driven a car in his life.
Things go from bad to worse for the car salesman, as you hear him warn Gordon to "ease up a bit" after doing doughnuts in the parking lot and speeding on a urban road.
Gordon then increases his speed and nearly hits another vehicle which really set the salesman off. The nervous salesman even curses out Gordon and tells him "you're an idiot, I'm going to kill you."
The video was produced by Gifted You, a division of Will Ferrell's Funny or Die company according to GM Authority. Approximately 75 people were employed during the shooting of the video.
The video was designed to promote Pepsi Max according to The Independent Tribune.
This is just the latest of prank videos by pro athletes, as Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving has become known for his Uncle Drew personality. In the videos, Irving goes to basketball parks all-around the country trying to fool people into playing with a "old man" not knowing that it's in fact Irving dressed in disguise.
