2017 Audi A4 Allroad: A No-Nonsense Station Wagon

Some might say that the 2017 Audi A4 Allroad has all the liveries and specs of a crossover SUV, but Audi is not buying that bandwagon. Instead, the German automaker gave the A4 Allroad with all the conventional trappings of a crossover SUV and branded it as a wagon.

The 2017 Audi A4 Allroad is built on the same platform as its namesake, minus the Allroad branding. The new A4 sports a slightly raised suspension, more aggressive set of tires, and a standard four-corner traction control. The wagon's performance is even akin to that of a sports car.

Audi also added more upgrades to the A4 Allroad. The wagon has several drive modes including Auto, Dynamic, Comfort, Individual, and, to stay true to its moniker, Offroad. The wagon has 110.9-inch wheelbase and measures 187-inch in length. As a wagon, it boasts a 58.5 cu-ft of cargo space, according to Car and Driver.

The 2017 Audi A4 Allroad comes standard in all-wheel drive. Under the hood, it packs a 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine capable of outputting 252-horsepower and 273lb-ft of torque. This power is delivered to all four wheels by a seven-speed automatic transmission.

As a wagon, the A4 Allroad registers quite an impressive mileage. It has an EPA rating of 23mpg for city, 28mpg for highway, and 25mpg combined, according to St. Louis Today. This is an impressive feat for a wagon, and even surpasses the average mileage of a standard crossover.

The 2017 Audi A4 Allroad has a base price of $44,950. There are quite a handful of optional upgrades including the Prestige package which adds $7,400 on top of the base price. This upgrade does include Bang & Olufsen audio options and the Audi Virtual Cockpit.
