Google Nexus 7 2017: Is It a Nexus 7 2017, a Pixel 2, or a Pixel 7?

The Google Nexus 7 is the Mountain View company's upcoming tablet. It will have a robust Andromeda operating system, amazing new specs, and all new features.

Famous technology leaks tweeter Evan Blass, a.k.a. @evleaks, is responsible for all of the commission. Apparently, Blass uploaded a document sometime last year which leaked the upcoming Nexus 7 for this year. The previous iteration of the tablet was available years ago, and Asus manufactured it as a 2013 model.

Recently, there has been a lot of speculation about the new tablet. Some of them say that the Nexus 7 2017 will keep the name but will come out as a 2017 model. Others say that it will actually be the Pixel 2. And other reports also say that it will be renamed to the Pixel 7.

The last report stated that it would be released as the Google Nexus 7 2017. A new report by TNH Online reported that one source even claimed that the Pixel 2 is actually the Nexus 7 leaked by Blass. This claim finds the basis on the fact that the two devices will both be using an identical processor (the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835), have the same Andromeda OS and share many features. However, this is just speculation and is probably unlikely to happen.

In another report by Enstarz, the new Nexus 7 may actually be called the Google Pixel 7. According to the report, the rumors about the two being the same have yet to be confirmed or denied. However, a Google Pixel 7 is expected to launch this year. In fact, it may not even be a phablet but an actual tablet, according to the report.

The upcoming Google Nexus 7 2017 device is rumored to have the new Andromeda OS which is a combination of the Chromebook OS and the Android OS. Reports even suggest that it will give the Nexus 7 similar capabilities to a PC, but this remains to be soon. Moreover, the report is also based on the fact that Google is trying to compete with rival Microsoft who is also trying to fuse Windows 10 with Windows Mobile.

The Google Nexus 7 2017 could be revealed later this year. It will reportedly feature a 7-inch AMOLED display with 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution. In addition, it may have a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4 GB RAM, and 64 GB of internal storage. It may also have USB Type C and VR is a likely possibility as well. Stay tuned for the latest updates on the upcoming Google device.
