2017 Mini Cooper Convertible: ‘Tis The Season To Drive Around With The Top Down! An Attractive Spring/Summer Ride

Oh Spring! Perfect time to drive around with the top down to enjoy the inspiring view of the countryside. The 2017 Mini Cooper Convertible is one good option to realize this. With the perfect crisp weather and cool breeze brushing against one face, the Mini Convertible is a good addition to an entire experience.

According to Motor Trend, Minis may be considered a little pricey, but heck, that's the whole point. It adds to the flair and glam, especially when driving around town in its convertible version. The Mini Cooper is dramatic and classy as it is, imagine how it would amp it up more as the top is down. In spite of it being small, it is after all, a four-passenger car.

The base engine of the 2017 Mini Cooper Convertible is a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder which is also found in the BMW i8. This Mini is powerful in its own right being able to produce 134-horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. Many may have been fooled of the Mini's capabilities, but big things do come in small packages.

The 2017 Mini Cooper S Convertible is even more powerful as it is powered by 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo which can easily produce 189-horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. As the convertible gets upgraded to John Cooper Works model, so as its power as it gets better being able to produce 228-horsepower and impressive 236 pound-feet of torque.

The 2017 Mini Cooper Convertible base model can accelerate from zero to 60 in 8.2 seconds while the Cooper S can make it in 6.7 seconds. The John Cooper Works model is even faster at 6.3 seconds. It is also interesting that 20 percent of the Mini Cooper Convertible would go for the manual transmission.

The Mini Cooper Convertible's chassis is stiffer and sturdier and there is an optional Dynamic Damper Control system with the normal, sport, and eco modes. No matter one goes for, Mini Cooper has never strayed away from its signature go-kart handling. Since the Mini is a mini, handling is way better as it navigates tight spots and corners very well.

As added by Auto Blog, the 2017 Mini Cooper Convertible is also impressive as it increases its cargo load capacity by 25 percent to a useful 7.6 cubic feet maximum. It is also equipped with an Easy-Load function for easy loading of cargos and other items. The top's operation is also quick as it operates for only 18 seconds.

The 2017 Mini Cooper Convertible fuel economy for based model is at 28 mpg city and 37 mpg on a highway. The Cooper S model registers 23 mpg for the city and 32 highway. The upgraded and more powerful version, the John Cooper Works registers 22 mpg in the city and 31 highway.
