The highly awaited Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is an upcoming 2-in-1 device. It will replace the Surface Pro 4 and will come with new and more powerful features.

It was reported last time that the new device from Redmond could likely debut next month. However, a recent report from Droid Report stated that the company will likely announce the new device at its October event.

Originally, many believed that the product was set to be available last year. When that didn't happen, there was a lot of speculation that it would come out during MWC 2017. Still, when that also didn't happen, the latest report was for spring 2017 as early as next month.

Meanwhile, there has been no actual announcement from Microsoft regarding the 2-in-1 device's launch. The same reported stated that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 was expected to feature an Intel Kaby Lake Core i7 processor. However, new reports now say that the new Surface Pro could have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 635 processor.

Korea Portal also shared a similar story. Apparently, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 635 processor is a good choice because it will give the upcoming device a longer battery life. In addition, thanks to Qualcomm's specialization in mobile connectivity, it will also give the 2-in-1 device a faster internet connection that could feature LTE connectivity.

Apart from this new reveal, the new Surface is still reported to have the same features previously reported. This includes a rechargeable Surface Pen, 4K display, USB Type-C, 16 GB RAM, and 512 GB internal storage.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could still launch next month, according to the previous reports. But considering that Microsoft has been exceptionally silent on the matter, it is more likely to come out in October.
