Porsche Macan 2017: A Smaller and Sexier Cayenne for On and Off-Road Fun!

The Porsche Macan 2017 is a compact luxury SUV capable of seating five people. It has a powerful engine, good safety, and tech features, and is very capable for both on and off-road driving.

Pros and Features. The 2017 Porsche SUV has quick acceleration on all of its engine choices. It also has a very sporty and engaging feel when driving it. It is also a surprisingly comfortable and composed ride.

It has a well-crafted interior which gives it a significant edge over its competitors. In addition, an extensive list of customization options is also available.

Cons. According to Top Gear, the Macan's base model is more expensive that its class rivals. In addition, there are a lot of stand-alone options that need to be paid for in order to get a full-featured cabin. Finally, it also has tight cargo and rear seat space compared to other competing vehicles.

What's New? For this year, two trim models are new to the Porsche Macan lineup. The first is a base model with a four-cylinder turbocharged engine and the other a sport-oriented GTS model. Additionally, new standard equipment including a rearview camera, parking sensors, and a lane-departure warning system are available to all trims.

Trim Levels. The Macan 2017 lineup comes in four trim levels that correspond to different engines: base, S, GTS, and Turbo. All trim levels come standard as AWD.

According to Car and Driver, the base model comes with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, 18-inch wheels, a rearview camera, and front and rear parking sensors. It also comes with a lane-departure warning system, automatic bi-xenon headlights, and LED running lights. For tech features, it comes with Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with a 7-inch touchscreen interface, smartphone auto integration, and a 10-speaker sound system.

The S gets a bigger V6 engine, bigger brakes, 19-inch wheels, dual twin-pipe exhaust ports, and a different exterior trim type. The GTS is essentially a souped-up S. It has sport-tuned adaptive air suspension, bigger brakes with red calipers, and 20-inch wheels. It also has a unique exterior design, a sport exhaust, and adaptive headlights.

The Macan Turbo builds on the Macan S with an even more powerful V6 engine. It also has different 19-inch wheels, brakes, and exterior styling elements, and LED running lights. It also has adaptive headlights and other upgrades.

Verdict. The 2017 Porsche Macan is perhaps the top-rated compact luxury crossovers in the market. While it has a heftier price tag, it is well worth it for all the added features it comes with.
