iMac 2017 Expected Release: Lack of Virtual Gaming Support And AMD Processors Possible

Apple iMac fans are expecting its release soon but reviews of their current models reveal that does not support Virtual Gaming. It mentioned that other brands such as Microsoft, Dell and HP seems to be better in terms of specificationsA.

Apple iMac is now in a quandary. Its long-standing reputation is to be the go-to brand for gaming and graphic design creators. But now that reputation is in question.

According to Mobipicker, it is most likely that Apple competitors Dell, Microsoft and HP might topple the California-based giant from its perch in desktop and even on its laptop design. Both Microsoft Surface Studio and Dell's XPS All-in-One desktop computer have features that are considered better than iMac.

For instance, Microsoft's Surface Studio has a 28-inch display that can morph into a drafting table for artists and graphic designers to sketch on. On the other hand, Dell's XPS All-in-One desktop computer has a color display that's a great help to creative artists. Finally, HP's ENVY Curved desktop has a massive 32-inch display which can be used for gaming and watching your favorite movies in full color!

But it's not only virtual reality gaming magazines that are disappointed with iMac's lack of VR support. Virtual Reality Company Oculus is also hesitant on the support of iMac's OS - or its inherent lack of VR capabilities.

Oculus's co-founder and head of RIFT Nate Michell confirmed the iMac's lack of support for RIFT, according to TechCrunch. In the world of virtual reality gaming, VR users are looking for a really great virtual reality experience. Mitchell said it would take about another six months to work on Mac's OS support for RIFT.

Rumors abound about Apple installing AMD Radeon Polaris graphics chips to enable the new generation of iMacs to be VR Ready, according to MacWorld. According to MacWorld, Apple's last iMac laptop upgrade occurred in October 2015, wherein Retina-class screen resolution was added to its smaller Macs and outfitted the larger Macs with Skylake processor chips.

Now, Apple iMac users are looking towards the next upgrade expected this month, especially when reports are floating around that iMac is shifting to AMD's Ryzen 7 chips instead of the latest Intel Kaby Lake processors for its next iMac upgrade; it might also launch it this March, said PC Advisor. Whatever upgrade it's going to be, iMac users and virtual reality and virtual gaming enthusiasts are awaiting it with bated breath!
