iOS 10.2 Jailbreak Signals the End of Jailbreaking? Downgrade Before It's Too Late!

The iOS 10.2 jailbreak has proven to be a daunting task. Luca Todesco and Pangu have not been able to crack the code yet. Will this be the end of the jailbreaking community?

According to a report by MobiPicker, several iPhone 7 series users of Luca Todesco's jailbreak community have come to a bitter realization. The 10.2 for iPhone 7 will probably not get a jailbreak release. Jailbreak Wizard Todesco even tweeted that there is a reason why no jailbreak is available to date. However, he did not elaborate any further.

The report continues to state that Apple's new APFS File System is really hard to get through. Jailbreakers cannot access the IPA (iOS Application Archive) files. While some were able to find workarounds in the past reportedly, they would only last for up to 7 days. However, they were not able to find a workaround for iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus yet.

While Todesco did release his version of iOS 10.2 jailbreak as promised, it did cover the latest iPhone 7 series. Furthermore, he also commented that this could be his last public release since he was frustrated with the community's behavior. As for Pangu, there is still no news about any new jailbreak for the iPhone 7 series.

In another report by Redmond Pie, it seems that iOS 10.2.1 and 10.3 beta won't be getting a jailbreak as well. Currently, no proof exists of any jailbreak for those versions even in private. Public exploits are even more unlikely, especially with Todesco saying he won't be working on any public jailbreaks anymore.

However, the report continues to say maybe a new member of the jailbreak community will step up. If Luca Todesco and Pangu have nothing up their sleeves, a lot of talented new jailbreak wizards may step up and accept the challenge. At the moment, none are available yet.

The iOS 10.2 jailbreak is reportedly Luca Todesco's last public release. It could also be the last public jailbreak to be released for iPhones. At present, it is highly suggested for users to downgrade their iOS 10.2.1 to iOS 10.2 in order to use the current yalu102 jailbreak for non-iPhone 7 series units.
