New Mercedes-AMG Project One Details Available: Hypercar To Rev Up To 11,000rpm And Has A 31,000km Engine Life

Details of Mercedes-AMG's new hypercar have recently emerged on the internet. The hypercar, called Project One, is said to be a monster of a vehicle.

New details on Mercedes-AMG's Project One hypercar now available. Chairman Tobias Moers has given out more details of its highly anticipated Project One hypercar at the Geneva Auto Show. Moers said that Project One's engine would be able to rev up to 11,000 revolutions per minute in addition to it being capable of over 1,000 horsepower.

This is definitely an exciting development on the hypercar. However, it should be noted that the Project One will have F1 mechanicals underneath which would mean higher costs. As an F1-inspired hypercar, life expectancy of the Project One would only be around 31,000 miles which translate to 50,000 kilometers before needing a great deal of engine work.

The hypercar is said to be officially unveiled at the Frankfort Motor Show in fall later this year. It is expected that more teasers and news on its development will come it leading up to its official reveal.

Other known details of the hypercar include a slightly altered F1 engine, a hybrid setup based on the car manufacturer's W07 F1 vehicle, electric motors on the front to help the engine deliver power to all four wheels, and a curb weight of 2,200 pounds. It is said to carry a whopping US$2.5 million price tag.

The vehicle's engine is actually a 1.6-liter turbocharged V6, the same one found in the 2016 Formula One Champion Mercedes W07. It should be noted that the vehicle dominated the 2016 Formula One season with 19 wins, 33 podium finishes, and 20 poles.

There are currently no other details available on the Project One. There aren't any official photos either. Amazing renders of the vehicle are, however, available care of designer Jan Peisert.
