The 2017 Honda Civic Type R has just made its debut at the recently opened 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Let us look at how it competes with the 2017 Ford Focus RS.

The new Honda Civic Type R boasts of its capacity to deliver 316bhp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The new hatch boldly sticks with the front wheel drive.

Whereas, the 2017 Ford Focus RS features the standard all-wheel drive. The Focus RS can deliver better power at 350bhp and 350 lb-ft of torque.

The new Civic offers the three new settings for driving modes: Comfort, Sport and +R, Evo reported. On the other hand, the Ford Focus RS has Normal, Sport, Track and Drift modes.

The new Civic has 38 percent stiffer structure and multi-link rear suspension setup which has replaced the previous torsion beam. It also comes with a lower driving position. Its rival features driver-selectable suspension settings.

The new Civic looks gorgeous with its massive wing and bumper at the rear section. On the other hand, its Ford rival has a high-mounted rear spoiler. The Ford's hatch features a unique RS Sport exhaust with dual bright tips.

Rolling the new hatch from Honda are the Continental Sport Contact 6 type of tires which are mounted on 20-inch rims. The new Ford Focus comes with 18-inch Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 tires mounted on 18-inch RS Sparkle Silver-painted alloy wheels.

With regard to the stopping power, the new Honda hatch is supported by Brembo brakes. Whereas, the new Ford hatch has the RS brake system.

The 2017 Ford Focus RS has a price tag of about $36,500 (£30,000). Interestingly, the 2017 Honda Civic Type R has matched the price tag of its rival from Ford.
