Bungie Confirms Destiny 2 Latest Update Will Upset You!

It is confirmed! Destiny 2 will be a total reset of each players Destiny 1 characters. Game Developer, Bungie detailed "what's to come" for Destiny 2. Although this information might be upsetting to the majority of the gaming community, hence, here are the things Bungie posted on their blog today.

"Sequels represent the start of a new adventure for every player, with new worlds to explore, new stories to tell, new powers to acquire, new loot to earn, and much more," says Bungie on their blog post today. In summary of what Bungie has said today, each character's personal appearance will be retained (if that helps). All Destiny 1 powers, possessions, Eververse-related items, and currency will not be carried over to the upcoming update. With that being said, players Guardian's skills and Light level even their weapons, ships, armor, emblems, and other items, will not be carried over.

It may be hard to accept and bid farewell to characters fans have established over the course of three years, Kotaku mentioned it is the best game plan. According to Jason, Bungie created Destiny in a ten-year plan progress. Thus, change is the most agreeable decision.

But, mostly of the Destiny gaming community feel disappointed over the fact leaving the memories collected over the span of three years behind. Tankwarroom expressed their disappointment by saying, "There are a lot of memories attached to all those items that they've collected over the course of three years, so it'll be hard to say goodbye, especially to the likes of the Gjallarhorn."

Bungie recognizes by stating "We know that, just like us, you have grown fond of the Guardians you've created, so we do plan to preserve your character personalization." The developer added, "We are going to recognize the dedication and passion you've shown for this world. Specifically, the class, race, gender, face, hair, and marking selections for all characters that have achieved Level 20 and completed the Black Garden story mission will carry forward."

So far, the decision stirs a lot of mixed emotions. Personally speaking, its difficult to say goodbye. What are your thoughts about Bungie's decision to reset Destiny 1's characters? Share it in the comment section below, and stay tuned for more news and updates.
