Miniature versions of exclusive expensive cars are not entirely a new idea. In the past, companies like McLaren and Morgan have released kid-sized versions of some of their most expensive cars. Recently, Rolls-Royce is also joining the bandwagon with the release of the Rolls-Royce SRH.

Most of the time, miniature versions of expensive cars end up being collectors' items which could shoot up their price. Rolls-Royce is breaking this practice by giving the Rolls-Royce SRH to a children's hospital.

The Rolls-Royce SRH was built specifically for the St. Richard's Hospital Pediatric Day Surgery Unit which is located in the same town as the automaker's headquarters. The SRH moniker was also taken from the name of the hospital.

Patients can drive the battery-powered SRH down to the hospital's operating theater. In fact, the hallway leading to the operating theater is adorned with various roads signs.

"We hope that the Rolls-Royce SRH will serve to make the experience for young people during treatment a little less stressful," Rolls-Royce chief executive officer Torsten Müller-Ötvös said.

Rolls-Royce cars are known for its extensive attention given to each detailed part. The SRH, just because it is a miniature car, is not an exception to this time-honored practice. The miniature car has a blue and silver body with a red coach line. The iconic Spirit of Ecstasy ornament is also on the bonnet of the SRH. The SRH was handcrafted by Bespoke Manufacturing, according to The Telegraph.

The Rolls-Royce SRH has an electric motor powered by a 24V battery pack. The miniature car has a top speed of 10mph, although this speed can be limited to just 4mph with proper configuration. Speed can be controlled using the paddles which are located behind the steering wheel.
