The 2017 Toyota Prius Prime has an 8.8kWh battery pack which is in the car's trunk. Toyota claims that the Prius Prime has a pure electric range of 25 miles before the gas engine kicks in. When it comes to charging time, the battery pack can be charged from zero to full in as little as two hours using a 240V charger, according to Electrek. Using 110V charges will take more than five hours to fully charge the battery.

The 2017 Toyota Prius Prime costs $27,100 before federal tax credits are factored in. It may not be as pretty as a Porsche or a BMW, the Prius Prime can definitely stand on its own.
