Nissan Juke EV Concept is the Bold New Redesign the World Wants to See!

The Nissan Juke EV Concept will hopefully give the seven-year-old car the new redesign it needs. The next-gen Nissan Juke will likely debut at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show along with the Juke EV Concept from 2015. There will also be a Juke EV hybrid powertrain in the lineup.

According to NDTV Car and Bike Team, the next-gen Nissan SUV will get a major makeover for this year. The supermini-SUV is likely to bring a more refined and better-quality machine. The biggest change is apparent with its all-new platform. It will now use the Alliance's Common Module Family CMF-B platform, similar to that of the all-new Nissan Micra.

The design of the new Nissan Juke will remain "edgy and less mainstream," according to Shiro Nakamura via Auto Express. However, the redesign will still make the vehicle identifiable as a Juke. The styling will likely retain the same high-mounted headlights as well as its distinct wheel arch blisters. It will also likely showcase Nissan's new "face," which is apparent on the latest Qashqai. In addition, the Japanese automaker reportedly aims to address the rear legroom issue.

The Nissan Juke's cabin will have a major overhaul. It will have a higher quality of materials including better fabrics, materials, and soft-touch plastics. The new design will likely look like the all-new Micra which has a full central infotainment display and smartphone connectivity. Additionally, the Juke's cabin will see a broader range of personalization options, such as new colors and finishes.

Nissan has hinted in the past that the new Juke will get a hybrid variant. This was first seen in 2015 with the Nissan Juke EV Concept. The Gripz concept debuted at September's Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Juke EV is reported to have a hybrid powertrain similar to the Nissan Note. It will have a 1.2-liter engine with a power generator and inverter. The battery pack will be barely 1/20 the size of the Nissan Leaf's and tucked under the front seats.

The new Nissan Juke will be revealed in October at the Tokyo Motor Show. The Nissan Juke EV Concept will likely be there while the Juke EV will come in 2018. Hopefully, the new Nissan SUV will take more design cues from the Juke EV Concept.
