The 2017 Subaru WRX STI dubbed As The “Best Sports Car” By ALG

Subaru scored yet another prestigious award as their 2017 Subaru WRX and WRX STI were given "The Best Sports Car" in the recently concluded ALG Canadian Residual Value Awards. It is their 6th time receiving the same award in 9 years in the same category.

According to reports, Subaru has brought home the bacon twice in a row now and has now officially become their 6th award for 9 years now. Aside from that, Subaru also added another award to their name as they have also bagged "The Best Mainstream Brand" from the 2017 Canadian Residual Value Award by ALG as well. This is its 3rd in a row receiving the same award.

"Being named Best Mainstream Brand in the 2017 ALG Canadian Residual Value Award, for the third year in a row, is further proof of what Subaru owners experience for themselves - a Subaru offers excellent value for the money," Shiro Ohta, the President and CEO of Subaru Canada Inc said. It looks like all of its consumers agree to her statement.

ALG said that the 2017 Subaru WRX and WRX STI is more likely to retain their value even after 4 years. Apparently, the sports car models are known for dropping their values quickly but Subaru WRX and STI is not the same as the others. They added that when it comes to performance, they offer versatility, dependability, efficiency and of course an appealing price tag which made them took home the award once again.

The 2017 Subaru WRX has a 2.0L turbocharged boxer four engine sending 268 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. It is also offered in 6-speed manual or in CVT automatic transmissions with a starting price of $27,515 as mentioned in Digital Trends. On the other hand, the WRX STI has 2.5L of turbocharged boxer four engine which sends 305 hp and 290 lb-ft of torque. However, it is only offered in 6-speed manual transmission. Torque News reported that the starting price for this model is $36,015. A brand new 2018 Subaru WRX and STI is said to be coming soon and may offer more upgrades and features. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
