BioWare’s ‘Mass Effect: Andromeda’ Day One Patch, Game Size, & More Teased By Game’s Lead Designer: Expect A Heavy One

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" day one patch, file size, and other tidbits have been spilled on Twitter thanks to its lead designer, Ian Frazier, who seems to like chatting with his and the game's followers. Interesting information regarding BioWare's highly anticipated RPG comes at the heels of the announcement that the game has gone Gold! You know what this means. It's almost game time.

Day one patch. By going gold, it signifies that the studio has completed the game's initial development. DulaShockers learned recently that a good portion of the team behind "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is still working on the day one patch. This must be one big patch as all hands are on deck.

Frazier goes on hinting that players getting the early access thanks to EA and Origin Access special promotion could also get the day one patch. This means "Mass Effect: Andromeda" could come preloaded with the day one patch, thus update-upon-update waiting could be avoided.

However, the game's producer Michael Gamble warned that plans could still change as the launch date is nearing. It is not 100% guaranteed.

File Size. If you are one heck of a gamer, you may want to free up some space for "Mass Effect: Andromeda."  BioWare's hit RPG will eat up "at least 45, not more than 60" gigabytes" for PS4 and Xbox One platforms.

Meanwhile, for PC gamers, be sure to have a whopping 55GB ready, according to GameSpot. But the good news is that more graphical options are available which were limited in predecessors of "Mass Effect: Andromeda."

And without question, the profile/favorite systems still works the same on PC, as that on the consoles. However, playing using the keyboard and mouse, you will have the opportunity to assign 4 favorites to hotkeys.

Multiplayer and a new game. Although not much detail was revealed, Frazier teased about a "new game +" option for players who have finished the game. But you won't be seeing the "Warp" power anymore as the studio felt that this got in the way of their goal.

Also, a multiplayer beta is expected to launch following the official release of the game. Yet there is no official date as to when.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" will officially go live this March 21. It will be available on all platforms: PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Until then, check out one of BioWare's latest trailers.
