It was a surprise when Opel or Vauxhall launched their first ever Insignia. It was the top competitor in the segment for big sedans. The brand was able to produce a brilliant car which is larger and more affordable compared to the C-class and 3-series. Today, they are back with the 2017 Insignia.

This year's model has a look that is inspired by the Monza concept. It will feature slimmer headlights on the front ends and a lower mounted vertical grille than the current model.

There are also some developments made on this model's measurements. It is now longer in 4 inches offering an expanded space for the cabin and cargo. The improvement made on the size of the wheelbase is to provide a much roomy space cabin than the other premium models.

Other adjustments were also applied to the roofline and the seats. It becomes lowered providing more headroom and comfort than the previous model.

The 2017 Insignia's interior still greatly shows a familiar Opel/Vauxhall design with the dull and dark mark. The only difference is that it has many improved materials used on its interior and a smartphone integration, OnStar system, and a Wi-Fi hotspot are expected to come along with the upgrade.

There are claims made by the brand that the revised line-up of engines is to compromise a combination of a turbocharged 1.5 and 2.0-liter petrol and a turbodiesel in 1.6 and 2.0 liter. It is capable of providing improved fuel efficiency and better performance.

The 2017 Insignia's standard transmission is a manual six-speed box, set -up for the front-wheel drive. On the other side, the brand also offers a variety of picked engines that comes with an automatic eight-speed transmission in a four-wheel drive.

The car was a big hit before and was able to capture the markets giving the brand's most significant profits on its first-year single-handedly. Today, the company is in hopes for it to happen again this year, and if not, at least close to the success as it was before.
