Techrules Supercar To Be Showcased At Geneva; McLaren F1-Style Adopted

Techrule is a Chinese company which is about to introduce a wide range of electric supercars. The company is using the 2017 Geneva auto show as its launchpad.

Last year, at the 2016 Geneva auto show, Techrule made the announcement that it plans to make extended range electric supercars with a jet turbine. After the company announced this, it also showcased an AT96 TREV concept. It had stated that the model will be launched after a couple of years.

Techrule has taken a page out of McLaren F1 and has adopted the central driving position in its electric cars. To call its own, Techrule has the design of the seats which has jet fighter-style canopies for each of the seats. Techrule believes that this design provides a lot of visibility, reported Motor Authority.

Techrule took an expert opinion on the design of the car from celebrated Italian designer, Giorgetto Giugiaro. The car has laser headlights and a starburst pattern for the reversing lights. The car also includes a camera-based monitoring system instead of the conventional side and rearview mirrors.

The chassis of the car has been designed by the Italian engineering company, L.M. Gianetti. The highlight of the car is Techrules' own design which is called a Turbine-Recharging Electric Vehicle (TREV) powertrain, reported Express.

The TREV generates electricity by using a small jet turbine. It uses this to charge a battery pack which in turn powers the motors that drive the wheels. The AT96 TREV concept by Techrule is reported to produce almost 1,030 horsepower.

This power is sufficient for 0-62 mph acceleration in about 2.5 seconds. The company states that the car will give the power that a good supercar needs and efficiency to match it. The Geneva auto show begins on March 7. Techrules' electric cars will appear in the show along with a wide range of other cars.
