Next-Generation Alpina B5 Dances In The Snow In Teaser Video: To Debut At 2017 Geneva Auto Show

The next-generation Alpina B5 recently was teased in its own video flexing its muscle engines in Winter Wonderland. The all-new vehicle is dancing in the snow offering timeless style beneath all the camouflage yet still demonstrating a stomach-churning performance.

The Alpina B5 is based on the G30 BMW series and will be a luxury-focused high-performance model, although the B5 series has long been known as a hyper-lux version of the M5. According to a report by CarAdvice Au, the next-generation Alpina B5 will make its debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, ahead of the next-gen M5, which is slated to arrive later this year.

Under the hood is a tweaked version of the 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine used in the outgoing model, reports Digital Trends. Power will be sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Although official numbers haven't been confirmed, probably more than 600 horses could be produced by its uprated engine. If the outgoing B5 Edition 50 is any good, then as an indicator, the next-generation Alpina B5 could possibly take only 4 seconds during a 0-60mph dash with a top speed around 200 mph.

Since the next-generation Alpina B5 is heavily camouflaged in the teaser video, the company could give the new model a unique ground effect body kit so that it could stand out against the 550 and M5. Also, multispoke wheels and quad exhaust ports are expected.

Once the 2017 Geneva Motor Show commences, Alpina will be open for preorders. But be sure you have around $100,000 ready in order to get one heck of a luxurious superpowered sedan.

Both the Alpina B5 and B5 touring, the wagon, will hit European retailers. Meanwhile, US buyers will have to settle for the sedan.

In the new teaser video, the camouflaged sedan can be seen tearing up a snowy circuit, followed by the message "a new Alpina is coming".

As to how the numbers for the next-generation Alpina B5 will stack up against the upcoming M5, we will have to wait until both vehicles are actually out. In the meantime, check out the teaser video where the B5 dances gracefully and powerfully in the snow.
