The 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan has certainly reached a milestone! For the first time, the Tiguan will be introducing a third row. According to Kelley Blue Book, the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan now becomes a seven-seater mid-sized crossover SUV has increased in almost a foot in length. This extra length expands the cargo capacity to an astounding 57 percent as compared to the previous model. This definitely comes in handy for those who desire to have a multi-functional ride, capable of loading as much cargo and at the same time allowing for more passengers.
The upcoming Tiguan also comes with an updated engine. It is important to note, though, that the decrease in horsepower is countered by a significant increase in torque. It comes with an updated version of Volkswagen's turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that work hand in hand with an eight-speed AT which is capable of producing 184-horsepower as compared to 200 of the previous. The torque, however, has increased from 207 pound-feet to 221 which is a significant jump.
The 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan's exterior stays loyal to its original design, however, it is considered more mature and considerably edgier. The interior is decked with standard cloth seats and the availability of Volkswagen's Digital Cockpit which enables the driver to configure instrument panel according to desired preferences.
The all-new Tiguan also is banking on comfort and convenience as it comes updated with the availability of push-button heat for the front seats and the steering wheel. A panoramic sunroof is also a classy addition.
The 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan is definitely giving its competitors a run for their money as it is also equipped with various driver-assistance features. It has an updated adaptive cruise controls to be used in stop-and-go traffic. Among other added safety features are forward collision monitoring and autonomous braking.
As added by Car and Driver, the longer and lower exterior of the upcoming Tiguan alongside its minimalist design approach and fresh face, it is expected to entice and draw in more buyers. It may not be making a lot of buzz as compared to its more aggressive competitors, but it is expected to make a name for itself as quietly as possible.
