Formula 1 Update; Bargeboards, Wider Frames and New Race Car Drivers Are Expected To Be Seen This Year

Expect a lot of new changes in the 2017 Formula 1 racing competition. Fans will be seeing a lot of changes in the rules, miss out familiar faces and expect impressive changes in the car design and construction as well.

Last year was another nail-biting and exciting ending as the most anticipated race of the year finished up in Abu Dhabi. According to Mirror, many fans will surely miss a lot of familiar faces as the World Champion Nico Rosberg will no longer race including Felipe Nasr and Jensen Button. However, newcomers will definitely be seen during the race. But apart from missing out this great race car drivers, major changes in the rules as to how the cars will look will also take effect this year.

According to Craig Scarborough, ESPN technical expert, fans can expect major changes with the Formula 1 2017 cars. Rule makers of Formula 1 have prescribed wider tires of about 6cms in front and 8 cms on the rear, wider cars with measurements of 40 cms and 20 cms longer for increased mechanical grip, wings are angled in a different way than last year and was made wider. Also, the diffusers have become larger and the nose of the race cars are longer in order to add extra downforce.

Another change in the vehicles for this year would be the vanes surrounding the chassis or known as "bargeboards" which is also larger and more complex. Engine token systems are removed that means manufacturers have the freedom to change the engine as much as they want as long as they have the resources. However, drivers are now limited only to 4 power units per season which may restrict development but will encourage reliability. However, fans should not expect to hear powerful engine noises this year due to these major car changes.

Fans should watch out for 20 races that end in Abu Dhabi. Stay tuned for more updates in the upcoming Formula 1 2017 racing event.
