Oppo Will Be Revealing Its New 5x Smartphone Photography Technology At The Upcoming 2017 MWC

Oppo has officially announced that it will be revealing its new 5x smartphone photography technology at the upcoming 2017 Mobile World Congress. The company claims that the new technology will allow users unprecedented ability to capture high detailed images.

Sky Li, VP, OPPO, MD of International Mobile Business & President of OPPO India, said in a statement; "OPPO's relentless pursuit of perfection without compromise has given birth to a remarkable technological breakthrough that will change how the world perceives smartphone photography." He added, "We chose MWC to unveil the 5x smartphone with the belief that we can inspire the industry to aim higher, and continue to create pioneering products that give amazing experiences to consumers."

Oppo is presently the No. 1 smartphone brand in China having a 16.8 percent market share, and also the world's fourth best-selling smartphone brand for the second year running. Also, in India, the Chinese brand became the second biggest smartphone player in the offline market by sales volume, hitting a 10.9 percent share basis GFK data.

Last year, the company revealed its Super VOOC Flash Charge battery technology, which was an upgrade version of its VOOC Flash Charge battery technology. The new technology has the capability to charge a 2500mAh battery from 0 to 100 percent in just 15 minutes. SmartSensor image stabilization was also revealed by the company to ensure that photos were not shaky.

Meanwhile, Oppo recently launched its A57 smartphone as the newest addition to its selfie smartphone range. It's called the Oppo A57 that has a 5.2-inch HD LCD with 2.5D curved glass and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Oppo's ColorOS 3.0 skin. It also runs on an Octa-core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor.

Other features include a 3GB RAM, internal storage of 32GB which is expandable up to 256GB microSD card, and Adreno 505 GPU for graphics. The phone's front camera comes with a 16-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.12nm pixel size. At the back camera, it offers a 13-megapixel with a f/2.2 aperture with a LED Flash Module.

With the company's taglines, "Go 5x" further and "So close you can feel it," it clearly shows that the company's 5x smartphone photography is referring to the optical zoom feature. Oppo's new smartphone technology is expected to debut on the company's future handsets that are slated to be released this year.
