2017 GMC Sierra 2500HD Pickup Truck: A Truck That Brings High Torques To The Trails

Known as the professional grade vehicle brand by GM, the new 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 HD is sold through various retail channels than its sibling, the Chevrolet Silverado. This 2017 model is a heavy-duty full-size pickup truck available with rear or four-wheel drive, three can and three-bed configurations and with a choice of a gas or V8 engine.

Under the hood, it's equipped with an all-new Duramax V8 turbodiesel engine that it capable of producing 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. It's a 12 percent increase in HP and 19 percent more torque than its predecessor.

According to GM Authority, the heavy-duty truck now comes with a new air intake that helps cool down the engine even driving a challenging terrain. The truck's induction system reportedly underwent a rigorous testing method that is based on real-world driving conditions to ensure optimum performance.

The 2017 Sierra 2500 HD also offers standard features such as daytime running lights, a single stage frontal and thorax side airbags and head curtain side airbags, HID headlights and a passenger sensing and infant-only suppression system. The automaker's StabiliTrak stability control system will roll avoidance comes in standard, as are four-wheel anti-lock brakes. Other features include automatic response, turn-by-turn navigation for the first six months of ownership, and stolen vehicle and roadside assistance.

The heavy-duty truck has a max towing capacity of 23,100 lbs. It may be not close to the 30,000 lb offered by its rivals, but GMC stated that it focuses on the bulk of the customers who are usually towing between 12,000 and 15,000 lb.

The 2017 model also offers class-exclusive features such as built-in 4G LTE connectivity and the excellent IntelliLink touchscreen interface. The latest update to the Duramax diesel paired with Allison automatic transmission will be a strong selling point to many potential buyers. The 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 HD now sells for $37,186.
