PS4 Pro Ultimate Retro Special Edition is a Throwback to the Original PS1, Only 25 Units Were Made

The PS4 Pro is a bigger and more powerful version of the original PlayStation 4 console. Colorware decided to make a limited edition Ultimate Retro Special Edition of the console and made it look like the original PlayStation 1.

PlayStation Pro. The PlayStation 4 Pro first released in late 2016. It is a bigger and more powerful version of the original. It can also play games on 4K High Dynamic Range.

Specs-wise it has a 2.1GHz 8-core AMD Jaguar CPU and 4.2 TFLOP AMD Radeon GPU. The original PS4 (2013) only had a 1.6GHz 8-core AMD Jaguar CPU and 1.84 TFLOP AMD Radeon GPU. It also cannot play 4K games. The PlayStation 4 Pro also comes in 1 TB while the 2013 PS 4 was only available in 500 GB.

PS4 Pro Ultimate Retro Special Edition. Colorware created the PlayStation 4 Pro Ultimate Retro Special Edition. Sadly, the company only made 25 units, and it is currently sold out.

PlayStation Universe reported that Colorware's Ultimate Retro Special Edition was a great throwback to the original PlayStation 1 console. It has the same gray color as the original PS 1 console, and it has two USB ports that are labeled "1" and "2" to mirror the original controller ports of the PS1. Similarly, the "Sony" and "PS4" markings are sprinkled in green and blue, respectively, to make them match the original power and open buttons of the PS One.

Gameranx also reported that Sony released an exclusive, classically inspired PS4 two years ago. It was in celebration of PlayStation console's 20-year history. That release was only a reskin whereas the Retro Special Edition is a more faithful rendition of the original.

The PS4 Pro Ultimate Retro Special Edition is a fantastic throwback to the original and many gamers want to get their hands on one. Do you want one? Hopefully, Colorware will produce more.
