Details On 2017 BMW M2 M Performance Edition Leaked! Will Only Have 150 Units And Only Available In the U.S.

It seems that BMW's dealership ordering system have leaked on the upcoming 2017 BMW M2 M Performance Edition in advance of its official release. The order code ZL9, which means the 2017 new model will only be available in the United States and only 150 units will be manufactured.

This car is an M2 that has been modified with BMW's M performance parts. Features included on the 2017 model are manually adjustable sports seats, climate control, basic keyless entry, automatic climate control, black grille inserts, black side gills, LED door projectors and M Performance illuminated door sills. The audio system is a basic hi-fi system rather than the Harman Kardon unit, and the smoker's package is also removed.

When it comes to the car's performance parts, the automaker equipped the car with an M Performance coil over suspension. The 2017 BMW M2 M Performance Edition will not be the same as the standard M2 since it will only be available with a six-speed manual transmission. It also comes with the M Driver's Package which has a top speed of 168 mph from the standard 155.

Meanwhile, the automaker said that of the 150 units, half of them would be equipped with a six-speed manual while the remaining will get the BMW's seven-speed dual clutch. Alphine White is the only color available for the Performance Edition.

The M Performance Accessories fitted on the new model improves its sound and handling. A stronger M Performance coil over suspension is well tuned for the M2, and the M Performance exhaust also turns up the volume.

Furthermore, the car has been already spied testing at the Nurburgring. Standard price for the previous model is at $52,695 while the Performance Edition costs $61,695, that's $11,000 higher than the base model.

No details were revealed in the leak on when will be the 2017 BMW M2 M Performance Edition be going on sale. But knowing that it has already arrived on dealership ordering system, no doubt that the automaker will be revealing more information soon.
