Lotus Evora Sport 410 Special Edition Pays Homage To James Bond’s Lotus Esprit S1

The Lotus Evora Sport 410 is paying tribute to an iconic amphibious vehicle Lotus Esprit S1 that is celebrating its 40 years since its first debut in the big screen together with one of the biggest names in our history: James Bond. Lotus Exclusive built the iconic model but with a modern twist, of course.

Lotus Exclusive, the in-house personalisation department of the UK brand, commissioned the Lotus Evora Sport 410 as a modern interpretation of "Wet Nellie," James Bond's submersible Lotus Esprit S1. This particular vehicle first appeared in the Bond's movie "The Spy Who Love Me" in 1977.

The Evora Sport 410 was officially unveiled last Friday, featuring bespoke color scheme and interior. But don't get too excited as this modern-day tribute will not transform into a submarine. The automaker can only go so far.

"So many of us recall the impact of the Lotus Esprit when it hit the big screen in 'The Spy Who Loved Me,' and we wanted to honor that with a special Evora Sport 410. It's the perfect tribute to such an influential Lotus, but a world away in terms of its abilities and performance," said Jean-Marc Gales, Group Lotus CEO.

The vehicle's exterior is clad in white paint with a two-tone colour-coded bumper and sports and old-school Lotus badge on the B-pillar. It has a black waistline and white carbon-fiber tailgate, creating a traditional liftback illusion, reports CNET.

The interior of the Lotus Evora Sport 410 is another story. A tartan-style fabric covers both the door panels and seats with red stitching on the dashboard and center console. Plus, the shifter is lovely wood.

Since the Evora 400 is already a vehicle able to satisfy hardcore enthusiasts, Lotus has retained the Evora Sport 410's engine: a 3.5-liter supercharged V6 producing 410 horses and 310 lb-feet of torque. Its 0-60mph is 4.0 seconds with top speed of 190 mph.

The UK company has not revealed pricing details for the Lotus Evora Sport 410. But according to AutoCar UK, the expected price for this special edition vehicle would be north of $101,753 or £82,000, which is the standard price tag for the Evora Sport 410.

There will only be 150 samples of the special edition Lotus Evora Sport 410. So, if you want to own and feel like the Bond, better save up for this iconic vehicle that will soon take center stage and hit dealerships.
