Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 Launches As Michael Caruso’s Ride to Virgin Australia Supercars Championship

Last Tuesday, the Nissan Motorsport team revealed the second of its 2017 liveries. The team has launched its 2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 to be driven by Michael Caruso in the upcoming Virgin Australia Supercars Championship race.

The entry is Caruso's fifth season with the Nissan Motorsports team. In fact, he won the team its second victory in a Supercars competition last year, and en route to the 10th in the championship this year. During an interview, Caruso revealed that with the 2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 as his weapon, he will be one of the most competitive drivers for this season, reported Supercars.

Furthermore, since they have has lodged new tire regulations before the start of the competition, the teams will have opportunities to test their rides. During the testing process, the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 forecasted to be one of the winners in the opening rounds due to its impressive testing performance. In fact, Caruso himself verified that Nissan Motorsport has prepared for another team thanks to the new tires they've implemented on the cars at the Sydney Motorsport Park during testing.

On the other hand, the new regulations were expected to test the teams this year. With the changes, forecasted turnouts are less than reliable because the new rules could change team's regular strategies that they have used in the past. In fact, Caruso himself attested that since everyone has not gotten their head around the different compound of the race, his ride may have earned better chances at winning, performance-wise.

In other news, Motor Sport reported that it would be Caruso's third time to maneuver the vehicle, and loved the updates of the car he will be driving this year. He referred to the updated version as a classically clean, and even indicated that he felt nostalgic driving it during the testing.

The Virgin Australia Supercars Championship race will start by March 2, 2017. Will the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 reign supreme? Will the Nissan Motorsport team grab the championship title this year?
