The release date of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy for PS4 has finally been revealed. The release date of the game from the celebrated franchise arrived via a YouTube video trailer from IGN.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane release date announced. The release date of the game trilogy has been revealed to be June 30, 2017. The announcement came via a video trailer on YouTube from games and entertainment company IGN on February 16, 2017.

The game trilogy contains re-mastered versions of the of the original Crash Bandicoot game, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped. The re-mastered versions offer better lighting and animations along with new cinematics. It will also come with PS4 Pro support.

All three games in the trilogy were originally developed by Naughty Dog. Activision's Vicarious Visions, however, is making the game this time around. New features of the game include a unified checkpoint, save system, and menu system.

Initially, the much-awaited game trilogy was speculated to be released on February 28, 2017. However, no announcement ever came from PS4 manufacturer Sony to confirm this.

Things all changed when game publisher Activision took to Twitter on February 15 and tweeted, "Don't miss tomorrow's big announcement! #crashisback." The tweet came with a photo of Crash Bandicoot beneath six boxes all marked with question marks.

The original Crash Bandicoot game was released in 1996 by game developer Naughty Dog for the Playstation 1. The game spawned 19 games in total, including spin-offs, for different gaming platforms. It has shipped over 50 million copies worldwide.

The Crash Bandicoot games are set in the fictitious Wumpa Islands which is an archipelago south of Australia. The games are named after the protagonist who is an anthropomorphic bandicoot. They revolve around Crash battling antagonist Doctor Neo Cortex who created the hero but now wants him dead.
