Two New Games For Xbox 360 And Xbox One Now Available As Part Of This Month's Games With Gold Offer

February 16 marks the day of two new free games for Xbox Live Gold members. As part of Microsoft's Games with Gold program, players are treated to a set of new games for the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One at no cost for the second half of the February.

Two new free Xbox games for download now out! The two new games for players to download at no cost are Project Cars and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The former is available for the Xbox One while the latter is for the Xbox 360 gaming console. It should be noted that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed can also be played on the One via backward compatibility support. Players can download these games for free up until the end of the February.

The two new games are replacing Killer Instinct Season 2 Ultra Edition for the One and Monkey Island 2: SE for the Xbox 360. Monkey Island 2: SE can also be played on the One thanks to backward compatibility. Both games were previously available to download for free from February 1 to February 15.

The Xbox's Games for Gold program was initially announced at E3 2013 with the intention of offering free Xbox 360 games to users who have Xbox Live Gold memberships. It was consequently extended over to the Xbox One the following year after the console's release.

Two games are always released for free every month with one game for the first half and another for the second. However, there have been months where more than 2 games were released as a free download such as in April of 2015 which released four games in total and December 2015 with three games.

In other Xbox-related news, Xbox Live Gold members can purchase discounted games as part of this week's Deals with Gold. Games on sale include a wide selection of 2K game titles and a lot more.
