2018 Ford Focus recently made a slight debut as the prototype was spotted while undergoing testing. The photos reveal the engine and other features of the upcoming Volkswagen Golf and Vauxhall Astra rival.

The 2018 Ford Focus mule did not reveal much details as it was heavily covered. Few points appear to be a little obvious.

The front seems to have a similar style with the 2017 Fiesta. The grille designs look similar with the Fiesta too. The rear also carries a similar horizontal theme as suggested by the clusters of taillight at the back.

Underneath, it seems that the new Ford Focus has retained the current version's Global C-car platform. According to AutoExpress, the new Mk4 will probably have a slightly increased wheelbase for better interior packaging.

The publication speculates the potential of an Active version of the 2018 Ford Focus. This version can enable the new Mk4 to compete with the VW Golf Alltrack.

This Active version of the new Mk4 will most likely have a little increase in the ride height. There could also be an extra boy cladding, just like the one in the Fashion brand.

The Focus Active version might be released as a four-wheel-drive yet by default, it is considered a front-wheel-drive. On the contrary, the Fiesta Active is not a four-wheel-drive.

In another report, the upcoming 2018 Ford Focus is expected to come out with the options of three - and four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. A hybrid and electric versions are also anticipated to be offered in the future.

The mule projects a plain instrumentation area. This suggests that the new Mk4 is adopting a more formal personality, CarAdvice has noted.

As of press time, there is still no official announcement on the release date of the upcoming 2018 Ford Focus. Speculations predict the fourth generation Focus might come out next year, if not later this year.
