Spotted! Spy Photos Caught Cadillac XT3 Hidden With Heavy Camouflage While Out For A Test Drive

The upcoming Cadillac XT3 was spotted by spy photos while it was out for a test drive. In fact, the heavily camouflaged vehicle's features of the SUV crossover could not be verified. However, car enthusiast claim that details such as its design language, LED running lights, and side mirrors were quite visible. What can people expect from the future vehicle? What is its target market?

The Cadillac XT5 was recently announced to the public last year and will release by April of this year. However, fans of the brand had recently spotted a heavily camouflaged Cadillac XT3 which, apparently, looked larger than the XT5. The rear lights of the detected vehicle seemed to extend to the D-pillars, a similar feature to that of the Escalade model instead of the XT5. In fact, car enthusiasts had been betting on the XT3 to look more akin to the XT5, reported Auto Blog. However, judging from the exteriors of the spotted car, that is not the case.

The spotted vehicle also looked like it has a distinct rear suspension feature made from coil springs. Although General Motors had been using independent suspensions on some crossovers, the one found in the Cadillac XT3 was somehow different from those. However, the photos did suggest that the model is still under the platform applied to other models such as the XT5.

In other news, Car and Driver reported that the Cadillac XT3 would enter the automobile market as a market competition against luxury SUV and crossover heavyweights such as the Audi, BMW, and the Mercedes-Benz. The vehicle will also harbor the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain platforms instead of the XT5's. This application transformed the model into a lighter model powered by a front-drive-based architecture.

The Cadillac XT3 has been said to be GM's ace competitor against the Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz brands. Since The Cadillac XT5 did not garner the automaker enough luxury dollars to outperform the other brands, the upcoming XT3 was forecast to become a strong contender in the luxury SUV and crossover markets by the time it releases as a 2018 model.
