The news that the new vehicle will appear at the March Auto Show was confirmed by a General Motors spokesman to Edmunds this week.

GM plans to formally issue an advisory on the convertible in early February, which will include more details on the vehicle. It is not known whether or not the convertible will come with a hard or soft top.

The C7 drop-top will be showed at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show once the show opens to the press on March 5.

Camouflaged prototypes of the Stingray have been seen on open road recently, which could mean that development isn't completed yet. The C6 Corvette Convertible made its debut at the Geneva show in 2004 according to MotorAuthority.com, which could be the reason the new Stingray will debut at this year's show.

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was showcased at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, causing thousands to attend to get a sneak peak.

Expect the vehicle to go on sale later on this year, after the coupe version is made available.

Other vehicles that have already been confirmed for the Geneva Auto Show includes the new McLaren P1, Porsche 911 GT3, and Ferrari F150.
