Earlier this year, the latest Lexus LS 500h was introduced into the market. The hybrid version is expected to be featured in the upcoming 2017 Geneva Motor Show next month. What are the specs? Will the model's updates enable it to be a powerful hybrid competitor in its respective market segment?

Awaiting the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the Lexus LS 500h will be installed with a multi-stage hybrid powertrain that can only be seen in the LC coupe. It will be powered by a 3.5L V-6 engine that partly has an electric motor that can generate a total of 354 hp of output, reported Motor Trend. Although the model had been developed for the purpose of the upcoming event, it looks similar to its standard version. However, the spindle mesh grille has been improved. Furthermore, it has been installed with 28-way power front seats with cooling, heating, and massage functions. In fact, the passenger could enjoy a Shiatsu massage with the interior's reclining feature.

The 2018 Lexus LS first debuted at the Detroit Auto Show with a V-6 engine and 10-speed automatic transmission. In fact, it had a lighter body due to the installed GA-L global architecture that expounded its luxury characteristic. However, the recently updated version which is yet to be showcased next month has a 1.3 in. longer wheelbase.

In other news, Auto Blog reported that unlike the Lexus coupe, the LC 500 platform has no V8 engine version. In fact, the brand had already created the LS 600h hybrid which was installed with the V8 feature and could run on 439 hp. Therefore, the updated engine of the 2018 Lexus LS 500h performs inferiorly compared to its predecessor with respect to its powertrain.

It has been almost 30 years since Toyota had released the LS 400 flagship. However, the latest developments to the 2018 Lexus LS 500h put the model back in the luxury industry with updated interior features despite its mitigated powertrain.
