A leaked copy of brochure has inadvertently revealed vital information about the upcoming 2017 Honda City. The new Honda City, which is expected to receive a facelift, will officially debut on February 14. However, a day before the official reveal, a brochure leaked which confirmed speculations about the sedan's major cosmetic update.
The 2017 Honda City looks hauntingly similar to the Honda Civic sedan which is currently available in several international markets. The new City sports a wider front fascia. It appears that Honda has also trimmed down the chrome finish on the car's grille.
Based on the leaked brochure, the 2017 Honda City will have the same engine options that are currently available with the current model. The car has a 1.5-liter base engine which is available in both petrol and diesel variants. According to NDTV, the 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine packs 117 horsepower and 145Nm worth of torque. The 1.5-liter i-DTEC variant packs 99 horsepower and 200Nm of torque.
The new City is also expected to have the same transmission options as the current model, according to Financial Express. The petrol variant is expected to have a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. On the other hand, the diesel model will be equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
On the interior, the V, VX, and ZX trims of the new City will be equipped with a 7-inch infotainment system. All these trims will also have a 1.5GB media memory, smartphone connectivity, voice recognition capability, and a rear-view camera. The seat upholstery, armrests, steering wheel, door lining, and gear level of the VX and ZX trims will be made of leather.
On the exterior, the VX and ZX trims will be equipped with LED lamps and LED fog lights. The two top-end trims will also get a 16-inch alloy wheelset. The V trim will have a 15-inch alloy wheelset, while the S and SV will have steel wheels with Sporty Full Wheel Trim.
Honda has yet to confirm the price and official release date of the 2017 Honda City.
