Comparison; New Alfa Romeo Giulia VS Audi A4 VS BMW 3 Series

No other car would be compared to the BMW 3 Series, considered to be a leader in its segment until the Alfa Romeo Giulia hit the market. The Giulia is the closest Alfa Romeo to beat the 3 Series and in fact, some would choose the Alfa Romeo for it is a very different and exciting alternative.

BMWblog writes that another new car has come to the mix. The Audi A4 is also a great comparison coming into the segment. The Audi A4 and the BMW 3 Series has always represented the pinnacle of executive sport sedan and are the benchmark in its segment. The Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series has been dueling it out for the ultimate sport sedan supremacy but there is no declared true winner as different aspects of the automobile would give the award to one or the other.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia ends a five-year hiatus from the executive class for the Italian manufacturer.  The all-new Giulia features low CO2 emissions from its 2.2-litre diesel engine, a driver-focused rear-wheel-drive and the traditional sharp look that the Alfa is known for.

The Audi A4, the 2016 Car of the Year, looks to defend its crown with its superb performance from its V6 diesel engine, yet still remains clean and frugal. BMW 3 Series looks to get into the mix by upholding its reputation as the driver's choice.

Furthermore, WhatCar goes into detail comparing all three of the cars on which is the best.

In driving dynamics, the Alfa Romeo Giulia is considered the best of the three. When it comes to steering, it is the agilest. However, it lacks the comfort that the other two German cars produce.

In terms of engines, the Giulia and the 3 Series had four-cylinder diesel engines while the Audie A4 has a 3.0 liter TDI V6. It was surprising that the Audi A4 was the fastest of the three with its powerful engine and dual-clutch gear even with only having a front-wheel drive. The BMW 3 Series was an all-wheel drive while the Giulia made it a rear-wheel drive.

Overall, WhatCar ranks the Audi A4 the winner with its comfortable interior and performance. The BMW 3 series came in second with its driving dynamics and iDrive system slightly better than the Audi. The last place was the Giulia, even with its smooth and firm driving, the interior lacked in comfort, quality and technology.
