Apple Watch 3: Longer Battery, Always-On Display, Better Health Trackers and Tools, Cellular Connectivity, Advanced Charging, and More

The Apple Watch 3 is reportedly coming out later this year. The third-generation Apple smartwatch is expected to have a lot of great upgrades and features.

New Features. 9 to 5 Mac reported that Apple has continued to give their smartphones performance boosts with each release. The third-generation smartwatch will likely focus on health and fitness as well as several new upgrades and key features.

The first and most important upgrade that is expected from the third-generation smartwatch is an improved battery life. The second-gen model saw a vast improvement over the first-gen model. The latest-gen smartwatch will likely have improved battery life and longer usage between charge times.

Second, the new Apple Watch 3 is supposed to have an always-on display. While the Apple smartwatch looks decent with its display off, it just lacks the appeal of a traditional watch which has a readily available display. Despite the smartwatch's precision, there will always be a delay in having to push a button to show the time.

The new smartwatch is also expected to have built-in sleep tracking which will feed data to Apple's Health app in the iPhone. Also, it is also projected to have an upgraded heart rate app. It will allow the user to analyze the time it takes for his or her heart to return to resting heart rate.

Another possibility for the Apple Watch 3 is cellular connectivity, which was briefly rumored to be available for the Series 2 Apple smartwatch. Apps such as Pokémon Go would greatly benefit and become good standalone games rather than "companion" apps that require an iPhone to function.

And finally, it is also expected that the latest Apple smartwatch will allow users to charge while wearing them. This alleged feature will likely be included due to a patent filed by Apple for a "Charging Apparatus for Wearable Electronic Device."

Release Date and Price. Market Exclusive reported that the latest Apple smartwatch would release in September of this year. It is expected to have a $269 price tag, which is the same price as the Watch 2.

The Apple Watch 3 looks to be very promising. The upgraded health and tech features will significantly give the latest soon-to-be-released smartphone an edge over its competitors. What do you think about the new smartwatch? Share your thoughts and comments below.
