The doors to this year's auto show Chicago are now open. The 109th Chicago Auto Show opened last Saturday with Governor Bruce Rauner and Mayor Rahm Emanuel handling the ribbon cutting ceremony.
A look at the first day of the Chicago Auto Show. An auto show would be the least likely place for a family to actually spend time at to bond. This is not the case for this year's auto show in Chicago.
Although the auto trade show is an avenue for local and national dealers to showcase their products to the buying public, it also appears to be a place for families to visit. Singles, empty nesters, parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren were seen at the show with some driving as long as three hours just to enjoy the vehicles and other attractions. Others found the show to be a good avenue to look for and buy a car the family can enjoy.
The show is much larger than previous ones. In fact, it has grown to nearly 55,000 feet from last year. What used to be just three indoor test tracks are now five making it much more enticing for the people in attendance to participate and try out the vehicles. Given that the best way for a customer to end up buying a car is to have them try out the vehicle, the additional test trackers are definitely a big help to dealers.
Apart from the test tracks and vehicles on display, people will find the show full of food stalls grilling up burgers and other types of food and barkers that are almost carnival-like giving out tote bags and other freebies to everyone they can possibly give to. The auto show is riddled with lights and giant balloons giving the whole McCormick Place a festive feel. The Chicago Auto Show is open to the public every day starting at 10:00 AM until February 20, 2017.
